BURUNDI | BUSINDE | SINGLE ORIGIN COFFEE BEANS | HONEY

from £9.55

This specialty Burundi coffee is a honey process coffee grown in the Kayanza province near the Rwanda border. Cherries are hand-sorted and pulped - the sticky mucilage remains on the bean, which is dried for an extended period, creating a sticky ‘honey’ layer.

The Businde processing station works with 650 local farmers, supporting them with fair wages, compost for fertiliser, and seedlings to improve agricultural yields. This coffee is a natural process, meaning the Bourbon cherries are dried with the fruit still attached, which contributes to the unique flavour profile.  Altitude: 1600-2000 metres above sea level.

In the cup: milk chocolate sweetness, plum fruity notes and a balanced creamy mouthfeel.

Since December 2019, Importers Raw Material has been working in this part of the world. Burundi is a landlocked country located in East Africa, within the Great Lakes region, which produces particularly sweet, fruity, bright, delicious coffee.

This medium-roasted coffee is a great way to start the day. Available as a coffee subscription. 6 MONTH COFFEE SUBSCRIPTION
